    Abstract:

The goal of the present study is to evaluate the impact of bullying on various demographic variables like gender, age, working experience, type of institute and qualification of private school teachers in Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 409 (N=409) questionnaires were collected from sample respondents and we found that there is a significant difference in bullying behaviour among different groups of age, gender, type of institute, qualification and work experience. Analysis was done with the help of SPSS software by applying Mann-Whitney U test to gender and Kruskal-Wallis H test to test other four variables under study (age, type of institute, qualification and work experience). The results of the study showed that among the gender groups WPB is more common to female respondents rather than males. Examination of age groups suggest that WPB is more common in the younger age group (21-25) and older age group (35 & above) and least between the middle age groups {(26-30) & (31 & above)}. It is observed that those respondents having working experience of 1-5 years faces maximum bullying and those who have working experience of 15 and above years encounters minimum bullying. It is reported that respondents employed in secondary schools encounter the highest levels of bullying, while those in primary schools experience the lowest.  Also, it is discerned that respondents with a graduate qualification experience the highest levels of bullying, whereas those with an M.Ed qualification face the least. The need for a longitudinal design is proposed to understand the concept further.
